The Skywide ARC normally meets on the second Monday of each month.

Presentation topic (following Club business): 

VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) – Overview and features of the ‘Peanut’ App.

There are more and more applications that link radio transmission and the internet for amateur radio communication. This presentation will identify what VOIP apps are out there and benefits and limitations, featuring the multi-mode features of the ‘Peanut’ app as an example.  Followed by trying a short demo.

 

Time permitting. Review of the recent Skywide member poll on operating modes.

Are we dealing appropriately with each? What modes should we learn more about at our meetings, talk about on our nets or in our mailings, or address on our web site ?

Location: Etobicoke Civic Centre, 399 The West Mall, Etobicoke, ON

The nearest intersection is The West Mall and Civic Centre Court.

Occasionally we have to relocate to smaller boardrooms downstairs. 

Please inquire on-site to find our meeting location.

Time: 6:00 pm-9:30 pm. Meeting starts 7:00 PM. All members are asked to do their best to arrive ahead of time in order to not disrupt the meeting. 

Facilities: Ample free parking is available. The main Boardroom utilizes a fixed setup and is located on the main floor. There are 21 round table and 31 gallery seats. The room also hosts a bulletin, chalkboard, screen and data jack.

Amenities: Coffee, tea & water will be provided.

*** Due to security changes, the main doors are locked after 6PM. If the doors are locked you can reach us on 446.200 FM simplex and someone will open the door or join the virtual meeting and let us know you’re outside – we will attempt to have someone at the doors to let people in until 7PM ***

 

For those who cannot attend in-person, the meeting will also be available via Google Meets starting at approximately 6:45 PM.
